Táve 3.0 Frequently Asked Questions
THIS PAGE IS OUTDATED
Táve 3 has been released!
What’s new in 3.0?
Every single page and feature in Táve 2 has been revisited and improved in 3.0, so “everything” is fairly accurate.
The primary motivation behind 3.0 is improving the organization and usability of the system. So we’ve done things like merge the “Clients” and “Vendors” sections into a more generic address book, created a new live quote editor to streamline quote creation, developed a new questionnaire system, introduced Proposals to organize multiple quotes, contracts, and payment schedules, added in-app email sending, and improved upon thousands of existing features.
You can see more of what’s new in Táve 3.0 on our blog, where we frequently publish Táve 3.0 Preview articles.
Will the price be changing?
Our existing studios will be grandfathered in to current rates when we change our pricing. Because of that, any changing to our pricing structure will only affect subscriptions created in Táve 3.0.
In addition, lifetime memberships will no longer be available.
When will 3.0 be released?
We’ve begun a gradual rollout process for Táve 3, called “Early Access”. Táve 2 users will receive invitations to upgrade soon, as we’re doubling the number of invitations each week. If you don’t have a Táve 2 account and you’d like to be emailed when 3.0 is available for new accounts, please sign-up for the Táve Newsletter.
We released private Beta 1 on February 4th, 2011, Beta 2 was released on March 1st, Beta 3 on April 29th, Beta 4 in early August, and our final private beta (Beta 5) was released on November 8th. Our first Early Access user was live on December 26th, with 10 users live on January 3rd, 2012.
How can I get an invitation to Early Access now?
We’re rolling it out to our 75 studios who participated in our 3.0 Beta first. Beta studios were selected based on several criteria, including participating in previous (far less exciting) betas, their history of useful feedback and interaction, or being a lifetime member.
After the beta studios are launched and we’ve started inviting our current users, we’ll be able to prioritize invitations to active studios that request one. Please wait until after we post to our blog that all beta studios have been invited to go live to request prioritization.
Should I wait for 3.0 to get started?
Táve 3.0 is based on the same database as 2.9, so any information or configuration you enter now will carry over into 3.0. The new concepts built into 3.0 should make the application easier to use and shouldn’t take much at all to get used to, so we don’t see any reason to delay in organizing your business or offering online booking to your clients.
Another benefit of subscribing to 2.9 now is being grandfathered into current pricing.
If I try 2.9 and I’m not a fan, can I try 3.0 later?
Yes, we’ll be offering trial extensions to all expired trial accounts after 3.0 is released. Just be sure to join our newsletter so you hear about the release!
